Know Your Fabric
Blue Prince merch typically uses cotton, cotton-polyester blends, or tri-blends. Each behaves differently in the wash.
- 100% cotton: Soft but prone to shrinking in hot water. Wash cold, always.
- Cotton-polyester blends: More durable, less shrinkage. Still, cold water is safest.
- Tri-blends (cotton/poly/rayon): Lightweight and super soft - handle with care. Rayon can warp if agitated too much.
Check the tag for exact fiber content. Most Blue Prince's merch collection includes care labels - don't ignore them.
Washing Basics
1. Turn it inside out. This protects printed designs and embroidery from friction. It's the single most effective step.
2. Use cold water. Hot water fades prints and shrinks fabrics. Cold is gentle and works just as well with modern detergents.
3. Choose a mild detergent. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners - they break down fibers and dull colors. A gentle, dye-free detergent is best.
4. Wash with like colors. Dark tees with dark tees, light with light. Prevents color bleeding.
5. Select a gentle cycle. Especially for delicate materials or heavy embellishments like embroidery or puff posters & wall art collection.
Drying Do's and Don'ts
Don't toss your Blue Prince gear in a hot dryer. Heat is the enemy of prints and can cause shrinking. Instead:
- Air dry flat for hoodies and sweaters to maintain shape.
- Hang dry apparel collection and hats (away from direct sunlight to prevent fading).
- If you must use a dryer, choose the lowest heat setting and remove items while still slightly damp.
Pro tip: For puff print or flocked designs, air drying is essential - dryer heat can crack or peel the texture.
Special Care for Embroidered Items
Blue Prince hats and beanies often feature embroidered logos. To keep stitches tight and clean:
- Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if possible.
- For deeper cleaning, hand wash in cold water with a few drops of detergent. Rinse well, then reshape and air dry.
- Never scrub the embroidery - blot instead.
Removing Stains
Accidents happen. For food or drink stains:
